Ease into Autumn! Autumn is the gentle cooling of you. It is where you’re being internally prompted to take a step back from the busyness of your life to check in and reevaluate. Are you still aligned to the truth of you?
This is what Autumn is encouraging you to assess. The purpose of each season and the Cycle of Growth itself is to facilitate soul self to human self expansion and growth. After successfully honoring the soul steps through Spring and Summer, you're ever so subtly beginning to recognize that there are parts of yourself and life you're beginning to once again outgrow. And all of this takes time.
You'll need to take stock on all levels of you and your life to prepare for the next phase of adventure. Autumn is the period to wind down, yet often the knee-jerk response is resistance rather than rest. While it is incredibly normal for you to want to resist the impending change you are beginning to sense, it’s important to do your best to flow with the seasonal shift for the sake of your well-being and health.
Autumn allows you to:
—> Self-reflect: Consciously you sift through the past months or years of active creation and begin to reflect on what you have learned and achieved, where you have succeeded, along with what you did and didn’t enjoy. You become aware of what you've outgrown and any unfinished business that requires attention. You notice you do all this internal and external assessment from a slightly withdrawn, reflective, observational place.
—>Rest and Recharge: Autumn is a time for you to rest and recover. After the hustle of summer, you may feel drained, both physically and mentally. This season invites you to slow down and restore your energy. Rest is essential, not just for your body, but also for your emotional, mental, and spiritual well-being.
—>Tune Into Yourself: Autumn signals change, and your inner guidance helps you recognize when you’ve outgrown certain aspects of your life. Through thoughts, feelings, or gut instincts, you’ll sense when something no longer feels right. This awareness nudges you to reflect on the areas of your life where change is needed.
As you move through this phase of reflection and rest, you may initially feel discomfort, agitation, or sadness. These emotions arise to show you what needs attention, processing, and release. Autumn is a time to acknowledge and make peace with what is ending as you prepare for a new cycle of growth. Accepting that your summer season is over can be challenging. You may resist the changes autumn brings, but that’s part of the process.
Don’t be hard on yourself if you find it difficult—just notice, breathe, and soften into the experience. Embrace curiosity and wonder about what this season of transformation might bring if you lean into it.
